Founded in 2009, CMS provides portable onsite metrology services to a growing list of clients across the US, found in a range of industries including power generation, petrochemical, aerospace, oil and gas, ship building, and automotive. Our Founder – Jason Nabors

With nearly 24 years’ experience, working at the highest level of engineering and manufacturing, Jason Nabors is one of Texas’ most experienced metrology and mechanical specialists operating in the industry today.

Jason puts a renowned dedication to a job well done at the heart of everything he does, drawing on his extensive expertise in dimensional engineering to bring quality to every project. Whether its 3D measurement-based tool inspection or sales opportunity identification, businesses across the state and beyond have put their trust in Jason’s abilities – a trust which he repays in his relentless pursuit of results.

A career in engineering

With an extensive workplace training from leading providers, Jason’s diverse career has taken him from strength to strength in the fields of metrology, tooling and sales. His first major position was at the Cessna Aircraft Company as a CMM operator and sheet metal assembler, before he moved on to a role with Vought Aircraft Co., instilling confidence in the firm’s work as a tried-and-tested quality assurance engineer.

Building on his industry knowledge, Jason then made the move to FARO Technologies, the internationally-recognized pioneers of 3D measurement technology. Taking on major responsibilities for the iconic Faro Laser Tracker, he achieved outstanding sales results as one of the company’s efficient and progressive account managers. His work under the FARO banner taught him everything about the immense potential that modern 3D metrology equipment can bring to industrial projects, specifically for building new tools, reworking old ones and completing periodic inspections of production aircraft tooling.

Introducing Contract Measurement Services LLC

Now with a comprehensive understanding of metrology under his belt, Jason founded his own successful business operating under the name Contract Measurement Services (or CMS).

CMS is a full-service metrology firm, providing top-quality alignment services, tool inspection and measurement using the latest and best FARO technology. Under the experienced leadership of Jason, the business works with a range of partners across the petrochemical, oil and gas, ship building, automotive, power generation and aerospace industries.

CMS continues to grow, moving from successful project to successful project and giving businesses the quality assurance they need to develop, evolve and go further in their ambitions.

Jason’s work is powered by his passion and understanding of metrology and industry tools. His diverse skill set includes:

Tool inspection – Complete knowledge of the planning and execution of tool inspection using the finest advanced measurement technologies on the market today.

Tooling setup and operation ­ – Trained in setting up and operating lathes, mills, drill presses and more, with particular focus on close tolerance measurement equipment and conventional optics.

FARO technology proficiency – Nearly 23 years’ experience working with multiple brands of laser trackers mostly FARO laser trackers and other FARO technology to carry out high-accuracy metrology work.

Technology demonstration ­– Full training in demonstrating products, their installation requirements and their potential to clients at all levels of industrial businesses.

Sales proficiency – Effective sales abilities, identifying unconventional sales opportunities, operating as tech support and generating sales revenues through demonstrations and presentations.

Metal assembly ­– Proven understanding of mechanical and metal assembly, turning blueprints in aircraft details, test equipment, hydraulic components and more.
